Rhinoplasty can be performed with IV sedation or general anesthetic.

Swelling and discomfort will start to improve after the first 24 hours but can last up to two weeks. At that time, you will feel ready to venture out and return to some of your normal activities. The majority of the swelling will be gone in approximately 30 days.

Each patient is different, but bruising is common after rhinoplasty surgery. If a patient bruises, it is usually around the eyes. To minimize bruising, keep your head elevated, apply ice packs to the area, and limit the intake of any alcohol and hot drinks. The bruising soon fades, and you will be left with more balanced features, a more sculpted nose, and a more attractive facial appearance. The results are well worth the short period of recovery.
